LibAirator Recommendations for Use during the COVID-19 Epidemic
In the absence of sufficient experience, we do not know whether and to what extent LibAirator is effective in preventing a serious pulmonary condition due to coronavirus infection, but feedback to date on other respiratory diseases is encouraging.
A characteristic feature of the groups most at risk is impaired mucociliary clearance of the airways. If the coronavirus infection passes from the upper airways to the lower airways, it will, in the worst case, destroy the cilia of the ciliated epithelium responsible for mucociliary clearance, but in the race it may be possible to push the possibility of this condition as far away as possible. We think the help provided by the LibAirator could count a lot. Use of the LibAirator typically improves self-cleansing of the airways, makes cough productive (secretive), and significantly reduces respiratory allergies. Metaphorically speaking, it is easier to sweep leaves from our door regularly than to deal with an already composting pile.
Our recommendations for use:
Use it so intensely that the coughed up secretions have a distinctively salty taste. In this case, the excretion-helping effect is maximal, and presumably some pathogens do not like this environment either. The closer you place the device to your face, the stronger effect it has. If you hold the already “run-in” device directly in front of your nose (1-5 cm) for 15 minutes while taking deep breaths, it equals several hours of normal use. The formula for the effect is approximately: effect = time / distance2. LibAirator has been designed for daily use, use it regularly. Experience has shown that it is only worthwhile to increase the intensity to a level where LibAirator already causes mild cold-like symptoms. Higher intensities can cause irritation and swelling of the nasal mucosa without additional positive effect, so avoid this.
